What process in the body makes it so that the body stays at rest when a person dreams?
For example, a person may have a vivid dream of running or thrashing about, but the body remains relatively still. What is at work that prevents the body from acting out?

- it's called a lucid dream it depends on what the person is dreaming about, nightmares tend to wake a person quicker
- It doesn't always work... Ever heard of sleepwalking?
- the body doesn't always remain still.....but for the most part your body is in a REM state and another part of your brain keeps you from moving.....however....many suffer from sleepwalking, falling out of bed or just making a mess of their sheets....
